Ebor Bess wins LTESA Contract

20 January 2026 – Bridge Energy, an Australian company developing critical grid infrastructure, today announced its Ebor Battery Energy Storage System (Ebor BESS) has been awarded a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement (LTESA).

The 100 MW / 800 MWh project, located near Ebor Village in the New England Region of New South Wales (NSW), will provide 8 hours of dispatchable capacity to the grid. Ebor BESS will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of the state’s power supply as aging coal-fired power stations retire. The system will store excess renewable energy from the grid during the day and discharge it during peak evening demand.

“The Ebor BESS is a high-quality project that will deliver reliable energy while providing long-term economic benefits to the local community,” said Daniel Hamel, CEO of Bridge Energy. “We are actively engaging with local stakeholders, trades, and service providers to ensure the project generates significant local economic activity. Ebor BESS will make community benefit contributions for the life of the project, and we look forward to working with our partners to ensure its swift development.”

The project is currently in the development phase, with local consultation underway. Construction is expected to create up to 60 local jobs, and the facility is targeted to begin operations in 2028.

Bridge Energy has placed a strong focus on creating lasting social value by committing to annual contributions to Armidale Regional Council’s New England Future Fund and the following infrastructure upgrades in Ebor Village:

  • Installation of an electric vehicle charger (EV) to attract tourists driving EVs.
  • Amenity upgrades to Ebor Town Hall to facilitate community events.
  • Upgrades to the Ebor Sportsground which is used for local Campdrafting and other community events.
